Molfetta
General data
Molfetta is a city in the South of Italy, located between Bari and Barletta, with high population density. It is very well connected, the Adriatic highway takes you to Bari in 15 minutes, and the train journey does not last longer than 20 minutes. Bari´s airport is 10 minutes away by car.
The city has a medieval area with narrow streets that have no sidewalks, where some commercial and craft activities take place. It is also a residential area.

Actions
Since 1994, Molfetta´s Townhall has developed several schemes aiming to reduce or modify mobility in the city.
1.- Re-structuring and re-vitalizing the city´s outskirts.
2.- Encouraging public transportation.
3.- Creating bicycle lanes and parking places, as well as carrying out campaings to promote bicycle use.
4.- Areas of limited circulation in commercial streets.
5.- Following the urban traffic plan to rationalize and optimize the circulation of vehicles in the city.
6.- Controlling aging of vehicles.
7.- Creating payment parking zones in the streets (blue zones).

Population Perception of Noise Pollution

Comparative study among the towns of Viladecans (Spain), Oulu (Finland), Arta (Greece) and Molfetta (Italy)
Part of RUMORE project was charged to evaluate people perception of noise pollution in all the cities mentioned above.
Aquest estudi s’ha dut a terme a partir d’una sèrie d’enquestes al domicili.
The study is based on representative population home-surveys; it was the same one for all the towns. Afterwards the city of Viladecans Fondation has processed the data.
